Baptisms dates are left to the parent's preference: either Saturday or Sunday. Must confirm with Parish office for availability.- Baptismal preparation: Baptismal Class is held on the Second Wednesday of each month. (Subject to change, check with parish office for next class)
- Parents & Sponsors MUST register for this class prior to actual Class. NO walk-ins are allowed
- Baptisms are held on either Saturday after the 5:30PM Vigil Mass or Sunday after the 12:00PM Mass
You must pre-register for class at the parish office before class, NO walk-ins allowed to attend class unless you are registered for class.
A copy of the child to be baptized is required to be on file before the baptism can occur.
Godparent InformationThe Catholic Church requires the following of Godparents: (code of Canon Law 874.1)- The Godparents are to be chosen by the parents or guardians
- They are to be at least sixteen years of age.
- They must be Catholics who have already been Confirmed and have received the Holy Eucharist.
- They should be leading a life in harmony with the faith; i.e. practicing Catholic (attending Mass), if married, in a valid Catholic Marriage, etc.
- They may not be the father or mother of the one to be baptized.
- You may choose one or two Godparents. If you chose two, one must be male and the other female.
- The godparents must have the qualifications for and intentions of carrying out this duty.
